According to the ACLU, 1 in 4 women are sexually assaulted on college campuses. 95% of those assaults go unreported. Tune in this week on Quarantea, Beth and Brittany Bowhall talk all about the office of Title IX. Named after the Violence Against Women Act (VAWA), Washington State law, and University of Washington policy, the purpose of the office of Title IX is to protect against discrimination based on sex, sexual orientation, gender, gender expression, pregnant or parenting status, and LGBTQIA+ (lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, queer, intersex, and asexual) identity. Brittany is a Livewell Advocate who specifically supports students impacted by sexual assault, relationship violence, talking, and sexual harassment.
